Today, salt is so far being conveyed in abundance, making not several fortunes for some bold families, yet a considerable amount of its use is for the business. Another name for the area, yet not as extensively known, was Caboloan.

In the neighborhood language, the word Bolo implies a kinds of bamboo that was endless in within areas and upheld in the demonstration of weaving light containers and winnowing plates called bilao. History experts acknowledge that the two names may have been used all the while.

A close-by the thing that has gotten synonymous with Pangasinan is bagoong or developed fish sauce. Salt, clearly, is its prime fixing. Mud-tinted and with a strong smell, bagoong has gotten the national feeling of taste. Neighborhood nourishment, for the most part, Ilocano in starting, owes its validity to the humble bagoong.

Taking from the extra and clearly humble lifestyle of the Pangasinense, with his dependence on the sea and conduits and the land, bagoong advances itself well to the local eating regimen. Mixed in with plain, fresh vegetables – like okra, squash, and eggplant – in a fortifying soup or as a dive for fire seared catfish or Bonuan Bangus (milkfish), bagoong has become a typical sight during dinner of most nuclear families.

In light of its sea shorefront towns, Pangasinan in like manner has an abundance of bangus.
