What to Remember while planning for your Krabi Thailand Vacation
When comparing Krabi vs Phuket, the latter is easier to visit from other domestic or international places. But to guide you in planning for a Krabi travel, here are a few points you should take note:
How to Reach the Island
You have many transport options to reach the island. First, you can fly from four other countries (China, Malaysia, Singapore and Qatar), directly to the Krabi Airport. Alternatively, you can fly domestically from Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Koh Samui as well. You can also choose to fly to Phuket from other countries, then hop on a 2 to 4-hour land travel.
If you choose to travel by land from Phuket, you can go for cheap mini-buses or government buses which usually take a longer time to reach Krabi Thailand. You can opt for private transport for a faster trip, but it usually comes with hefty rates. You can also choose to travel on a train or bus from Bangkok, but it will take up to 12 hours to reach the place.
Finally, ferry and speed boat trips are available at the Phang Nga Bay on peak seasons. This can take you from Phuket to Krabi Island easily.

Points to Remember upon your Stay
While on the island, you can choose from different transport options available. The most popular is to rent a scooter to go around the place, but remember that you should drive on the left side of the road. Alternatively, you can simply ride taxi cabs if you can’t drive, or book for a ride on Grab.
And if you plan to go on island hopping, you should know about speed boats and ferries. This is the best way to travel from Krabi to Phi Phi, Phuket and Koh Lanta.
Also remember to change your cash to Thai Baht, and remember to have both coins and bills you can spend. This is to make sure that you have cash on hand when you check-in to one of Krabi best hotels and stay on the island for few days. Don’t rely too much on your credit cards, as you can only use them in few classy restaurants. Finally, don’t worry about communicating with people in the island, since they can talk Basic English for you.

When to Travel to the Place
Thailand has tropical climate throughout the year. But it’s best to visit during January to March, so you can enjoy a warm yet mild atmosphere through your stay. This is to avoid the Christmas rush in Krabi Thailand and the crowd of tourists from cold countries too. Also note to avoid the months of August to October because of heavy rain spread throughout such months, which can ruin your plans easily.
What Things you can Enjoy at the Island
There are tons of Krabi things to do you can enjoy throughout your stay. Here is the most popular choice among tourists like you:
Beach Activities
You can begin your escapade on the best Krabi beach, and go for exciting activities you can do. You can go swimming or simply stroll and relax on the beach. You can choose to visit PHRA NANG BEACH and RAILAY BEACH as well, so you can enjoy iconic and scenic views of the limestone caves as you enjoy the cool waters. You can also go kayaking or scuba diving, especially at the best diving spots around the area.
When I was in Krabi, I enjoyed in Island Hopping. I went to PhiPhi Island and Hong Islands.

Relax in the Hot Springs
Aside from the stunning beaches, there are alluring Krabi hot springs in the area as well. These are located in the Klong Thom District, which is no more than an hour from the main town. You can spot hot springs right beneath the rainforest area, which adds to the therapeutic and relax vibe you can enjoy.
Visit the Emerald Pool
Another fascinating water body on the island is the Emerald Pool. It’s located near the hot springs, right in the Thung Teao Forest Natural Park. You need to walk for more than a kilometer to reach the site, but it’s definitely worth to do when you reach and take a dip in the cool pool. And similar with many Krabi Thailand destinations, be sure to visit the place early to enjoy it without too much crowd.
Check out the Tiger Cave Temple
The Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea in Thai), is one of the main attractions you shouldn’t miss in the island. It’s located around 10km away from the main town, and requires you to climb about 1,237 steps to reach the peak. That’s more than enough for many visitors to skip the place, which means you can peacefully enjoy it upon your visit.
The place is a Buddhist temple, thus you can see a large Golden Buddha statue atop of the steps. Moreover, know that it got its name from the tiger paw print which was spotted in the cave before.
Adventure Tours
Aside from having great relaxation in a Krabi resort, you can also pump-up your adrenalin with exciting things to do on and around the island. For example, you can enjoy kayaking, snorkeling and boating through the five islands around the coast. You can also enjoy sea tours through the limestone caves, or go for challenging limestone rock climbing.
These are few quick guides for you to enjoy a Krabi Thailand escapade. Put them in your notes as you plan for your vacation, so you can have enough ideas on how to have a fantastic stay on the island.
